The art of ALLOWING our emotions to exist is one of the key concepts in Mind Body Coaching. To tune into that witness observer of our self so we may gain a little space between who truly ARE and how feel.
The witness is our ability to see ourselves from an objective/third party respecting. Detached.
Because feelings change, there is a beginning, middle and end.
The art of allowing is a process that takes time. But when we get use to realizing feelings and emotions are really just sensations in the body, they take less precident and subside with greater ease. But they do inform us of how we are responding to the thoughts we are thinking.
Next time you are experiencing an undesired emotion write down the following:
Step 1: Define in one word your emotion/feeling. Get very specific. use an online data base that defines feelings to help.
Step 2: Describe the physical sensations. Tune into your body, what's actually happening and write it down.
Step 3: Ask your self the question; what is the worst thing that can happen if I feel this feeling until it passes? And write down those responses.
This art of allowing will lead to a greater understanding that emotions in and of them self have little power, until you give it to them. When you allow them to be there are only sensation. When you resist them, they build into unbearable thoughts spirals that create undesired results in our reality.
