Thank you for helping me reach my Ride to Defeat ALS fundraising goal!
My Personal Story:
My name is Mary Wagstaff and I am Donnie Graham's daughter in law. I started to know Donnie Graham Jr. and his family right around the begining of his diagnosis with ALS. Being a witness to Donnie's progression with ALS has been humbling, at times sad, but mostly inspiring. As a life long practitioner and teacher of yoga, being in my body and movement have taught me so much about my experience in both the internal and external worlds. Part of this movement exploration is also to find a sense of peace during great stillness. Watching Donnie slowly loose his ability to move his body on his own has made me even more grateful for the one I have, hoping to never take it for granted and to keep taking even better care of it, as well as sharing my love for movement. I am hoping to raise awareness to this disease through gratitude of movement & stillness, connection to the earth and one another. If we can use a movement practice to find stillness and peace, maybe we can find a new understanding of how stillness of the body can raise a new awareness to life.
